The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and may close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house that has a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined family money will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
